CNN is getting crushed in the ratings for reporting ‘fake’ news and they are now doing worse than ‘Nick-at-Nite’.
Now, Don Lemon of CNN walks off the set after a Republican guest calls him fake news. The topic was the cost of protecting the First Family, a tiny fraction of the U.S. budget that EVERY president has.
This is priceless. Don Lemon cannot handle the heat.
Don Lemon: “Paris, what do you think?”
Paris Dennard: “I think this is fake news. This is not…this is not a news story.”
Don Lemon: “What about it is fake, Paris? Are we going down this road again?”
Paris Dennard: “Yeah we are! The President is not breaking any laws.”
Don Lemon: “…Please stop with that stupid talking point that this is a fake news story!…”
Paris Dennard: ” Don, this is a fake news story in my opinion….”
At this point, Don Lemon couldn’t take the heat anymore, cut off his guest and walked away!
Don Lemon: “Ok, thank you very much everyone. Thanks for watching. Have a great weekend. Good night all.”
This is just another example of CNN falling apart for being caught. As I mentioned, CNN has made a drastic drop in the ratings war. While FOX and MSNBC hold the number 1 and 2 positions, CNN has dropped to number 13.
Last week, more Americans tuned in to watch re-runs of “Yogi Bear,” “Full House,” and “Friends” on ‘Nick-At-Nite’ than watch Anderson Cooper and Don Lemon’s shows on CNN.
CNN fell behind HGTV, Nick-At-Nite, History Channel, and ESPN, the sports network that’s been hemorrhaging viewers for months.
When will CNN begin to tell the truth? It does not seem that they plan to change direction. Jeff Zucker, the president of CNN just makes excuses. Hosts like Don Lemon seem to be in denial.
Not only that, CNN went after the Redditor who made the GIF and threatened to out him unless he apologized and promised to never say anything CNN dislikes again. The move drew much criticism and may have been illegal.
On July 4, CNN published a fake quote from Abraham Lincoln. In the same Twitter thread, CNN also mis-attributed a quote to Benjamin Franklin that actually came from British writers John Trenchard and Thomas Gordon, authors of Cato’s Letters.
On Thursday morning, the network falsely claimed German Prime Minister Angela Merkel had chosen the location of the G20 summit to sabotage Trump.
It never ends.
They have been caught on tape admitting that they played the Russia story, knowing it was fake, just for ratings.
Journalism is supposed to be a public service; its purpose is to inform people of the changing world around them. As the American Press Institute states, “the foremost value of news is as a utility to empower the informed.”
CNN has left that model and has become an extension of the DNC. It is a very sad moment for the history of the free press in the United States.
William Randolph Hearts and Joseph Pulitzer may have been sneaky and mean, but even they would be ashamed of CNN.
